Moodle is a online course management system which enables teachers to create a blended learning environment. A blended learning environment is one that combines traditional face-to-face classroom instruction with web-based instruction. Using a course management system such as Moodle, provides a structured online environment where teachers can post resources, assignments, links to content related websites, lessons and activities, quizzes, and discussion prompts.
The Michigan Merit Curriculum requires that all students have experience with online learning prior to graduation. The use of Moodle in the delivery of content is one option for providing students with the required online learning experience.
